One of my favorite things about summer is grilling out. While the hubby mans the grill our girls have fun playing in the backyard. Plus there’s just nothing better than enjoying a big juicy cheeseburger fresh off the grill with the entire family gathered around the table on our back patio. But before we can enjoy that yummy food I have to make a stop by the grocery store. My favorite local retailer for all of my grilling needs is by far Giant Eagle.
I really appreciate that Giant Eagle makes the shopping experience fun for little ones. Willow absolutely loves riding around in the car cart and the Little Shopper Treat Card makes the trip a breeze. If you’re not familiar with the Little Shopper Treat Card it can be purchased at the customer service counter for only $1. Then every time you go shopping your little one (10 years and under) can choose to present the card at either the deli, bakery, or produce stand for a free piece of cheese, cookie, or piece of fruit. It’s amazing how much more peaceful a grocery shopping trip is when my girls have a treat to munch on. The card is good for the entire year and 100% of the proceeds benefit local children’s hospital.
After finishing up in the produce section the girls and I made our way to the meat counter to select our Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers made with Certified Angus Beef. There were so many to choose from it was hard to make a decision and so I ended up choosing three different flavors – steak burger, pepper/garlic, and barbecue.
We continued our path through Giant Eagle getting everything we would need for a delicious grilled dinner including Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs & Bacon, Kraft Natural Cheese Slices, Pepperidge Farm Buns, Vlasic Pickles, Ruffles Potato Chips, Breyers Ice Cream, as well as Aquafina Sparkling and a few other items.
On the wayCategories home I invited my sister and her boyfriend over to enjoy this yummy meal with us because food is always better when shared with loved ones. I sent the hubby outside to start up the grill and while he was busy with that I began working on getting the Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers ready. These burgers are premade into patties so you could take them from Giant Eagle straight to the grill, but I had a little trick up my sleeve. That trick involved cheese… and lots of it… because there is no such thing as too much cheese.
SUPER CHEESY STUFFED GOURMET BURGERS
Ingredients: Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers (any flavor), Kraft Natural Cheese Slices (Aged Swiss & Colby Jack), Oscar Mayer Bacon, Pepperidge Farm Buns, and condiments
1.) Cut Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers in half.
2.) Form each half into a ball and flatten into a patty.
3.) Place half slice of Kraft Naturals Aged Swiss & Colby Jack between patties.
4.) Pinch edges of patties together to seal cheese inside.
5.) Grill burgers to desired degree of doneness.
6.) Meanwhile cut two strips of bacon in half and bake in a square weaved formation.
7.) After burger is finished cooking top with Colby Jack cheese while still on grill.
8.) Place burger on bun, add bacon, and desired condiments.
9.) ENJOY!
Once all of the food was prepared we loaded the table up with all the fixins and got ready to dig in!
It doesn’t get much better than this…
So much cheesy goodness and crispy bacon. My mouth is watering just thinking about how delicious these Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers were. Though I must say my favorite was the barbecue seasoned burger.
The girls chowed down on Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs in Pepperidge Farm Buns topped with Nature’s Basket Ketchup. They were so excited to see I had placed their meals in cute little deli baskets. Those extra touches really make the moment special.
One would think our bellies couldn’t possibly fit one more bite, but we had to enjoy some dessert too. While in the produce section at Giant Eagle I had picked up a few packs of strawberries which I then cut into thin slices. These were the perfect topping for some delicious Breyers Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream.
